The Agricultural Cooperative of Macedo de Cavaleiros, CRL, has been operating for more than five decades and was formally established on February 27, 1961.

Located in Macedo de Cavaleiros, in the Vale de Arcas area. Its statutes were published in the Government Diary No. 96 of the III Series on April 22, 1961, and were later revised and published in the Republic Diary No. 152, Series III on June 3, 1984. Its social area is limited to the municipality of Macedo de Cavaleiros and some parishes of the municipality of Mirandela.

At its founding, there were 13 founding members; currently, the Agricultural Cooperative of Macedo de Cavaleiros has about 2000 active members in the sections it maintains.
